Product Care

Thank you for your purchase. We take pride in the quality of our products and stand by their craftsmanship. Please note that wood is a hygroscopic material and needs to be conditioned to maintain its beautiful finish. Please do not leave wood handled floggers, canes, or stingers in prolonged direct sunlight and do not wash with harsh chemicals. Please review our product care recommendations below:

Wood Care

We only use Odie’s Oil Universial Oil however you could use a less expensive product like Tung Oil to protect the wood.

Tools needed:

-A 3m non-woven pad (rated above the grit or micron the piece has been sanded to: 800grit or higher).

-A Clean Cotton Terry Cloth Towel ( if new, wash the towel first)

Stir or mix your jar well as ingredients may separate over time.

Use the non-woven pad to work the oil into your handle’s surface.  The friction from the application helps loosen up and drive the oil into the surface. Remember: A little Odie’s goes a long way, so don’t overdo it!

After working the oil into the surface with the pad, allow it to set for 10 minutes to 3 hours. You can wait, but your buff/wipe off may be a bit tougher. Do not allow the oil to set for more than 12 hours! This will require a re-application to re-activate the finish for a proper buff/wipe off.

After waiting for the oil to set up, take a clean terry (100% cotton) cloth towel and proceed to BUFF/WIPE OFF ALL the oil from the handle’s surface until it is dry to the touch. When your towel has loaded up with oil, switch to a new clean terry cloth towel until the entire surface is buffed off clean and NO product REMAINS. If you can swipe a clean finger across the surface and make no mark you are done.

Leather Care

We use Fiebing’s 4 way Care to care for all our leather falls.

Preparation: Start by cleaning the leather surface to remove any dirt, dust, or surface impurities. You can use a cloth to lightly wipe down the surface.

Application: Apply a small amount of Fiebing’s 4 Way Care Leather Conditioner onto a clean, soft cloth or sponge. Rub the conditioner onto the leather surface using gentle, circular motions, ensuring even coverage. Pay special attention to areas that are particularly dry or worn.

Repeat as needed: Depending on the condition of the leather and how frequently it’s used, you may need to reapply the 4 Way Care Leather Conditioner periodically to maintain its softness, flexibility, and protection.
